---Overview Part 1
(2 years after the war)
The year 2182, world resources are running critically low. Two major factions still standing, battling eachother without rest until one is eradicated. Consuming what little the world has left to offer, it's only a matter of time before the earth crumbles beneath their feet. Until that day, it's a fight for survival. The war has to end, before the war ends Earth.
---Chapter I: Hope of Man
(6 years before the war)
Humanity was on the edge of chaos, the number of violent crime incidents growing day by day. Law enforcement services struggling to keep up with the shere demand of callouts to incidents in every city, attempting to keep crime levels to a minimum. It was around early August that a strange new corporation emerged. Calling themselves 'PhaseTech', they approached the government and offered protection over every city, claiming that with their research and technology, the world would be safer and a better place to live. The government, while strongly against the idea of putting the fate of the human race in the hands of AI, had no choice but to go along with PhaseTech's plans.
Years passed, things were actually looking up, crime rates across the globe were lowering and life was made somewhat easier to live because of PhaseTech's inventions. The corporation itself however went silent as the years went by, quietly working away on new technology and advancing their research as their mechanized troops kept up a strong presence in the cities. For the first time in a long time, the world was actually a nice place to live.
---Chapter II: Incentive
(1 year before the war)
By 2180, PhaseTech had expanded so large it's technology branched off across the world. It was now a global corporation, making it the largest organisation known to man. One regiment, one law enforcement unit at a time, PhaseTech's robotic minions was replacing them all, taking over all defensive roles on the planet. The way things had been working for the past 5 years, the government was happy to hand over such responsibility to their new found artificial allies.
The morning of April 2nd 2181, having established such a powerful presence in the world, and ruling over the entire defence of Earth and Humanity, PhaseTech revealed it's true mouth - "Join us or die." Moments later the Corporation mobilzied all of it's army, forcefully capturing every city it currently had control over. People were shocked, never knowing something like this could happen, having lived so peacefully for the past 6 years, shattered in one broadcast.
---Chapter III: 9th Legion
(The war begins) Day 1
The government however cleverly anticipated this movement, having kept hidden the last army of the human race, titled 9th Legion. This force was so immense it rivaled PhaseTech's monstrocity of a battallion. In every possible settlement, the two forces collided harshly, letting loose everything they had at their disposal.
This battle raged through cities for days on end, tearing down towering buildings which once littered the skyline. Neither side looked like it would lose the battle, despite the fact 9th Legion was vastly outnumbered by the mechanized soldiers. It seemed that the battle was leaning in 9th Legion's favour, although their foe seemed almost impervious to standard bullet ammunition - special lithanium rounds were
developed that would penetrate their plated exoskeletons. On and on the battle swept across the already battered lands. News was reaching command that cities had been recaptured and PhaseTech forces were withdrawing from several areas. It was almost too good to be true, the battle seemed to be nearing it's end. 9th Legion proceeded to neutrilize any remaining PhaseTech forces as they attempted retreat, the battle was won. Or so it seemed.
---Chapter IV: Leave no survivors
Day 7
9th Legion's platoons regrouped in each of the major cities to give the 'all clear', indicating that the city had been recaptured and was safe for further operations to commence. That's when the first nuke hit. Truldeska, the 3rd largest human settlement on the planet was obliterated by an explosion of epic proportion. The missile was said to have 'dodged radar' as it made it's decent to the target. Intel was later retrieved that the weapon had been launched from one of PhaseTech's known complexes.
Before command could issue the evacuation orders, the second nuke hit. Alcamon, the 5th largest human settlement was wiped off the face of the planet by an equally large nuclear explosion. The death toll at this point was said to be millions, stated UN officials. It was then that command issued the immediate retreat order to every regiment to evacuate the cities. But the attacks didn't stop, several more nukes hit smaller cities surrounding the major ones. 9th Legion tried it's best to pull everybody out, it's forces becoming dangerously slim.

Day 9
The air was thick with ash and debris. Those that were able to walk evacuated the last of the civillians out of the cities, bringing them back to small temporary safe-zones that had been established at safe distances. Thousands of troops had been lost, even more critically wounded, 9th Legion was in very bad shape.

Day 10
They came at night, thinner, lighter models of PhaseTech's robotic army came out of the shadows, having tracked down the whereabouts of these safe-zones. They snuck into the camps, silently and swiftly dispatched of guardsmen, before moving onto slaughtering everyone inside - merciless in their mission to leave none alive.

Day 11
It was the morning, radio chatter was unusually silent. Nothing was left in the robots destructive wake. At least, that's what PhaseTech believed when they issued their second global calling, "Join us or die." At that point, most of the remaining population of Earth has no choice but to do what they said, in hopes that their lives would be spared.
---Chapter V: Search and destroy
(2 months after the war)
Months had passed since the war came to an abrupt halt, PhaseTech's forces clearly too powerful for any force to confront. Sweeping through each city in turn, the mechanized soldiers marched through, killing anyone that they found. Those that remained in the cities had not answered PhaseTech's calling, and weren't considered 'followers.'
Any civillian unfortunate enough to be found by PhaseTech's minions were given no second chance, exterminated where they stood. This carried on for weeks, it seemed that there literally was no rest for the wicked. The mechanized battallion came to it's next stop, Tyrian. Door to door, building to building, every inch of every room was searched, nothing was found. The droid's confusion by the lack of human presence in the town was evident, as they began to pull out of the city.
---Chapter V: Last Hope
As PhaseTech's army made their way out of Tyrian, one of the droids spotted movement in a tall direlict building. A large pack of the robots advanced quickly to neutrilize anything they could find. However, once the squad were deep inside the complex, a sudden blast wave collapsed the building. Everything inside the building was crushed under the tons of rubble. Moments later on the opposite side of the street where the rest of the army had paused in wait, an EMP was activated, frying every electrical system within a quarter mile radius.
Following the EMP, human resistance charged out of the buildings towards the remaining droids, opening fire with advanced weaponry. Phase rounds the ammunition was called, cut clean through the armies protective shield, reducing them to a heap of scrap metal. This hidden rebellion pushed PhaseTech's forces out of the city as their counter-attack unfolded, their plan to destroy as many as they could.
The 'Aegis of Man' they called themselves. To clearly indicate their one key goal, to protect humanity. The resistance consisted mainly of refugees, but also many soldiers of 9th Legion that survived the midnight slaughter. Their special weaponry apparently stolen from labs of PhaseTech, cutting-edge technology that used light-based ammunition, also known as 'Phase.' The rebellion held their ground after the counter-attack, retreating back to the shadowy buildings once satisfied their plan had worked.
---Overview Part 2
(2 years after the war)
That's where the world stands. Tyrian, the last remaining true human civilization, protected by the Aegis of Man. The city has become a hub for refugees and war survivors, any lost soul that finds there way to the city are given protection, aid and support. Since the rebellion back in 2180, the force has grown dramatically. Still not nearly enough to match PhaseTech's army, but enough to watch over their precious city, for now. An EMP field surrounding the city walls ensures that no non-human entity is going to cross into the city limits with ease.
Within Tyrian an elite fighting force is being trained, the most skilled soldiers are gathered and taught by war veterans of the 9th Legion, in hopes that perhaps a new force will be built that will once again rival PhaseTech's army. This force, codenamed 'Aeon' will be the last hope of mankind, if they fail, nothing will stand in the way of the PhaseTech Corporation. It's only a matter of time before the robots strike again, and when they do, it could mean the end of the Rebellion, leaving no fighting force left in the whole of humanity. The remaining inhabitants would be left defenceless, becoming slaves and never having the chance of a peaceful life.
The fate lies in the hands of this final army, the army of Aeon.
